Thanks to Keith from Anchor & Lace Photography for this month's Tip.
Make sure to allow for some time to breathe. This is an essential part of the day, so you do submit yourself to the whirlwind of what a wedding day can be without that space for yourself. It allows you time to digest and relish in the day, while also enjoying time together as a couple. There should always be a 30 minute window of time before the ceremony for you to be alone and in your thoughts. You will be ever thankful that you made this decision, and will not regret it one bit.
A first look is an essential part of this type of schedule. Ignore old traditions, such as seeing one another down the aisle for the first time, and we are speaking from a very personal experience, since we chose to do a first-look, after going back and forth on whether it was the right fit for our day. Doing a first-look did not take away from the feeling of seeing each other down the aisle again. After all, now we were in the company of our family and closest friends. Seeing one another prior to the ceremony allowed us to have more of a wedding day together as a couple, as opposed to just a handful of hours. It made the investment in money, effort, and time so much more worth it.
